JAI KISAAN PROM

(Phosphate Rich Organic Manure)

PROM is a value-added product produced by co-composting high-grade rock phosphate (32% P₂O₅ 2%) of fine size (i.e. 80% finer than 54 microns) with organic material collected from press mud. A high grade rock phosphate in fine size when used as a mix with organic manure works as efficiently as di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) in alkaline soils.

Essential Content:

(i)	Total Phosphates (as P₂O₅), per cent by weight, minimum	8.0
(ii)	Total organic carbon, per cent by weight, minimum	10.0
(iii)	Total Nitrogen (as N), percent by weight, minimum	4
(iv)	C:N ratio - Less than	20:1

Benefits:

It supplies phosphorus to the succeeding crop as efficiently as to the first crop due to the residual effect caused by low P-fixation
The dissolution of P from PROM is slow due to the organic acids released by the plant roots and microorganism hosted (naturally present or advertently added) by the soil and the soil organic matter
It helps in improving physical, chemical and biological properties of soil as it is organic in nature
It prevents leaching and runoff loss of nutrients due to chelation effect
It will reduce the cost of fertilization to the farmers and will also result in the conservation of phosphate mineral, a non-renewable resource due to the high residual effect
